I should have went....

So apparently my middle sons old kindergarten teacher ran into my husband at work and they were talking about the school closing at the end of this school year... and turns out that had enough parents shown up and showed support at the meeting that the school probably would have stayed open.
Now that totally aggravates me because they barely let it be known that the meeting was being held, but they defiantly didn't stress the importance. Since the meeting was on the same day as Ethan's birthday I didn't attend it. Had I known how important it was I would have went and got some parents to come along with and fight it.
Needless to say the school is still scheduled to be closed. It was school #57 and it was built in 1921, super cool. Its really a shame to see it go. :(

Do you know what May 10th is?

MOTHERS DAY!
and its creeping up fast! SO I've searched high and low and found some awesome things on Etsy that would be perfect for mothers day. and I want to share it with everyone.

I found a shop that sells great candles, and one especially for Mothers day with a great poem on the front. I found them at Simplypuresoycandles. She has many many types to choose from. And what mom doesn't enjoy a good candle? Especially one that will make her smile.
I also found these family stones. They would make an excellent addition for the mom who has everything. They are made by sjengraving. She even has Garden stones, and beautiful necklaces.
And dont forget to get her a beautiful card.Like this BEAUTIFUL card by Jillybeangreetings. She has many to choose from all that are absolutely gorgeous. The colors on the card are guaranteed to make your special mom smile.

Oh how my garden grows

So my yard has a new addition. A vegetable garden.
My mother and father in law spent ALOT of time creating it- and John did too whenever he had a chance off work. It wasnt planted in the ground long before tiny little sprouts started to come up. the kids are extremely excited. They were able to help plant corn and its starting to get taller its about 3-4 inches tall now. Its really cool to watch grow.
Wonder how many other people have gardens? Id love to see them in any of my followers have some.

We typically get our movies from Netflix. So if anyone has some good movie names to share with me thatd be awesome. Im running out of movie ideas that Id want to see lol.

Have you heard of...

I recently purchased some awesome initial earrings and a beautiful black beaded bracelet
Ive ordered alot of items from Etsy sellers but I have to say these were the best packaged and presented items I've ever received. They were so beautifully wrapped that I almost felt guilty opening them. I wish I would have taken a picture so you could see it. Next time I order from her I will.
Thats another great thing about Tilley's Jewelry, they are super reasonably priced.
Her daughter has a shop as well. Full of really cute artwork. So be sure to check out Auddities as well.

I did the math...

And boy, a cup of coffee from the gas station every morning is VERY expensive over a months time. I added it up and it equals about $50 a month. Geez. Imagine if I got starbucks everyday lol. I guess thats a wake up call that I just need to get the filter for my coffee maker. Imagine what I could do with that $50.

I cant believe that Easter will be here so soon.
Ive already started grabbing some small things for the kids.
So far weve made it a tradition to make up easter baskets for people in need. However this year due to financial problems Ill probably only be able to do one basket. But one is better than none.
If anyone would like to help out- please feel free to contact me about donations. Also Id love to pass along a link to a website that is absolutely amazing...  www.wishuponahero.com

to those of you who sell.

So I read a thread on Etsy that confirmed that what Ive been saying for month.

If you sit and fuss about your failure because of the economy you'll never get anywhere. Now dont get me wrong, Im far from "making a living" from Etsy. and despite my number of sales I do get discouraged too- however when I get that urge to blame the economy for my lack of success I take a moment and re-evaluate my game plan. Typically if I do the things that I should be doing on a daily basis like blogging (which I so have been lacking on) twittering, chatting it up on facebook and promoting on various other places the sales will come.
Ive told John for months that I was sick of hearing about the current state of the economy, because if everyone gave 110% and be a little more positive things could be better. Now its  really a shame I cant find a nice rock to hide under until this recession or depression (whatever) is gone.
Ok- thats it for my rant for now.
Tell me what are you guys doing to "recession proof" your business?

my so called "fast food" dinner"

Goodness why do I always decide to take the kids out for a treat and go to fast food? I swear I have the fast food curse! literally every time I have ever eaten out my order has always been messed up- tonight they over charged me, and forgot a hamburger for one of the kids meals.
So please tell me that I am not the only one who constantly has a bad experience with fast food.
I think its a sign I should cook more lol!!
